According to Greg Sterling at SearchEngineLand, Google has confirmed the recent rumours that there are over 10 countries where mobile search has overtaken desktop search. In a wide ranging post on their AdWords blog, Google cited their internal data and confirmed that “more Google searches take place on mobile devices than on computers in 10 countries including the US and Japan”.

That’s big news.

You can read countless blogs (many of them on our own website!) about why having a mobile ready website is important. We have instances where clients of ours are seeing their mobile visitor numbers rise by just under 50% in under three months. Mobile is here to stay. Don’t take it from us, take it from Google’s official figures.
