We are proud to be supporting Cure Leukaemia’s London to Paris cycle ride – London 2 Paris: Inspiring The Revolution, which commences on 20th September in London and finishes on 24th September in Paris.
Our involvement will see Miro director, Ian Hancock taking on the 4-day, 500km challenge to raise vital funds for the Cure Leukaemia charity.
The event is especially close to Ian’s heart as he will be riding alongside his friend Mark Nicholas who was diagnosed was with chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) in May 2016, as part of Marco’s Tour de Cure.
Mark’s diagnosis meant he needed a stem cell transplant, which he received in October 2017. Following groundbreaking treatment from Cure Leukaemia, Mark is now in remission.
Now less than one year after his transplant, he will undertake the London to Paris challenge with Ian and the other members of the team, Tom Cullingford, Steve Hancock, Pete Gillespie, Ruth Voisey, Stuart Insall, Jim McCabe, Keith Hancock, Darren McMahon and Richard Skan.
In addition to Ian riding from London to Paris, Miro is also supporting Cure Leukaemia by being a jacket sponsor for Marco’s Tour de Cure, with all sponsorship going directly to the charity. Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
