Meet The Team – Simon Jones

Simon JonesWe Are Miro

Introducing our Senior Marketing Manager, Simon Jones

Simon’s first introduction into the world of digital marketing came when he joined a large digital agency as a content writer in 2014. His main role was to produce a variety of content, primarily for SEO purposes but included everything from local landing pages and product/category descriptions all the way through to more creative pieces of content like infographics, quizzes, and surveys.

This role taught Simon the foundations of digital marketing and he still remembers some of the pieces he wrote all those years ago (and every now and then, still checks how they rank – something I’m sure a lot of digital marketers could admit to doing!)

After a couple of years learning specifically about SEO, Simon made the switch to Miro and really expanded his digital marketing knowledge to get an understanding of how PPC, Social Media, and Email marketing all work and operate as well as a deeper understanding of marketing as a whole.

With determination and hard work Simon has achieved many successes for his clients and takes pride in delivering relevant traffic and revenue to our client websites.

“My biggest highlight from an SEO point of view was creating a brand niche content section on a healthcare website and taking it from zero to more than 70,000 page views per month in the space of 9 months.

As cliche as it sounds, the biggest highlights in my career are when campaigns work and deliver the results needed.”

Simon Off Duty

Outside of work Simon’s main interest is running. “I love it. Well, actually I love the runner’s high you get after a run, not necessarily the run itself!”

As with Simon’s work ethic to push himself to achieve, it’s a no brainer that he does the same with his favourite hobby. Entering himself in over 5 big races in the last few years; starting with the 5k ParkRun, then pushing the distance to the Two Castles 10k (running from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle), a 10 mile run around Draycote Water, and finally in 2019 he completed a half marathon in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik which started at 10pm and finished in some hot springs at midnight!

Football is also a big part of Simon’s life as he both plays and enjoys watching. We won’t reveal his team though to avoid any debates about the best team!

Fun Facts

To much surprise to the rest of the team, Simon is a qualified Volleyball coach, coaching the local adult teams and juniors at a county level. Despite lacking in height, he also played for a number of years and used to enter tournaments around the country.
