Continuing with our Meet the Team series, this week we’re introducing PPC Manager Glenn Graves who specialises in Paid Search and Lead Generation
Glenn’s success in paid search and lead generation is likely in part due to his educational background, having achieved a degree in Psychology at the University of Southampton in 2013 which undoubtedly enabled Glenn to excel in many important areas of digital marketing.
You could say he “learned to swim by jumping into the deep end” due to beginning his first marketing role in 2014 in a notoriously competitive advertising landscape, generating finance leads, in particular life and health insurance, equity release, and income protection. Here is where Glenn’s love for paid search and lead generation began, and he started building on his experience.
In 2016 it came time for Glenn to venture onwards, working on various projects including freelance opportunities, before in 2017 working at a large agency on clients such as Levi’s and Monster Jobs.
In 2018 to move closer to family, Glenn accepted a role at an agency in Milton Keynes and relocated to Brackley, Northamptonshire, and is now very much loving the country life. Here he worked as a PPC Specialist on campaigns for clients from multiple industries.
From these many diverse experiences over the last 6 years, Glenn has amassed a vast wealth of knowledge and capabilities concerning the intricacies and technicalities of Paid Search Advertising platforms, including but by no means limited to Google Ads.
Glenn then found Miro, and since day one in January 2020 has been a valuable asset to the Miro team, achieving great success swiftly with multiple clients.
“So far I’ve managed to grow one of my client’s revenue 127% year on year and their ROI by 35% which I’m really pleased with”
What does Glenn do outside of work?
Glenn’s a family man and spends most of his time with his wife and two daughters, in May 2020 welcoming his second! In his free time, Glenn has a number of hobbies and interests. In short: tea, hiking, golf, and portrait photography.
Glenn also loves the great outdoors, in particular walking national trails and camping along the way. So far he’s ticked North and South Downs, and the South West Coast Path off his list, and has spent some time up in the Lake District fell walking. While there he even got to see Uncle Monty’s cottage! (For those that don’t know, the cottage featured in the cult film Withnail and I (1987), a favourite of Glenn’s)
Glenn hopes that when he retires he can get into sailing, inspired by the adventures of Captain Rust, and YouTubers like Old Seadog. He’s already got his eyes on a boat!
“Did you know you can buy a Bluewater Cruising Yacht for only a few thousand pounds on Ebay?”
Fun Fact About Glenn…
Glenn knows far more than anyone else at Miro about tea, and drinks many varieties, often brewing his own! He enjoys brewing his tea Gongfu style (which has a high leaf-to-water ratio) and his current favourite is Ripe Pu-erh, a fermented tea. He credits the YouTube channel Mei Leaf for getting him hooked on tea!
