Raising the bar for iFLG’s online performance

About the project

The International Family Law Group (iFLG) is a prestigious legal firm based in Covent Garden. They provide legal support in sensitive cases that involve families and children all over the world. They came to us to raise their profile online and see an increase in certain cases. In the course of a year, we saw a 61% increase in year-on-year traffic with a 56% increase in organic traffic. More importantly, we saw a 142% increase in goal completions and raised their core keyword “relocation of children” from position 41 to position 2 in under 4 months.

Background

iFLG was formed in 2007 and quickly became a successful firm by winning prominent cases, employing acclaimed family law professionals and creating international partnerships. They also make regular appearances in the media on programmes like This Morning and in newspapers such as The Times to discuss prominent legal cases.

We were approached to help raise their profile online as they ranked poorly for the majority of key phrases and very rarely got new cases from their website.

Research & Implementation

We worked with iFLG to identify the right keywords to target for organic search. As iFLG is a niche business, we chose a handful of keywords that our research showed would bring in relevant visitors. We then established a 12-month strategy that focused on areas such as improving on-site SEO, reclaiming links, writing and placing outreached content and identifying PR opportunities where a link could be given to the iFLG website.

A Successful Start

iFLG saw a steady in organic traffic in the very early phase of the campaign. Even more impressively, within only 4-months they’d seen one of their core phrases – “relocation of children” – rise from position 41 to position 2 on Google.

Results

In year one, our SEO strategy had seen organic traffic to the iFLG website go up by a huge 56% which, in real figures, is an increase of 16,000 visitors. In addition to the increased visits, goal completions on the site went up by 142%.

The Future

Having seen a high level of success in year one, iFLG trusted us to continue optimising their website for their core phrases. We are also working with iFLG to develop their target keyword list to include more complicated areas of their business which we will target with a mix of organic and paid search.
