As part of the marketing mix, we redesigned the existing email marketing strategy from the ground up, resulting in dramatically increased revenue with a year-on-year boost of over £300k in sales.

The Background

We ran an online marketing campaign for Oxford Online Pharmacy of which email marketing was a core component. Due to the nature of their products, the focus of the campaign was to win new customers through organic and paid search. We employed email marketing to encourage those customers to buy again to increase Oxford Online Pharmacy’s customer lifetime value.


Research & Implementation

Oxford Online Pharmacy had an existing email marketing campaign. That meant we could analyse the data they had and make some immediate decisions on what types of emails worked. We looked at successful subject lines, the days and times emails were sent and the products being advertised. We then began our campaign with an improved design. As well as using previous data, we continually analysed data to further increase and develop the campaign success.

A Successful Start

Within 3 months, Oxford Online Pharmacy saw a year on year increase of 320% in direct revenue from email marketing. In the same 3 months, total transactions from email marketing rocketed from 418 to 1,398.

Results

After the initial burst of success, Oxford Online Pharmacy saw revenue from email continue to grow in year one with a total year-on-year sales increase of 158%. This huge increase in email marketing revenue came from an impressive 4,000 additional transactions.
