Why your business should use Facebook ads

In the final quarter of 2015, Facebook’s quarterly earnings surpassed $5bn for first time thanks to ad sales. And when I say thanks to ad sales, I mean pretty much all thanks to ad sales. In fact, 80% of that revenue was from mobile ad sales alone. That’s not quite Google numbers ($19bn in the same quarter) but it’s hugely significant.

Even more significant is that Facebook’s Q4 2015 ad sales ($5.6bn) is an increase of 57% from Q4 2014 ($3.6bn). In fact, Facebook’s total mobile ad sales in 2015 was a whopping $13.35bn. And that will only continue to accelerate upwards as over 90% of both daily and monthly active Facebook users are now using mobile.

If someone doesn’t search the term you’re bidding for, your ad doesn’t get seen. Once someone does visit your site, you can continue proactively remarketing to them but, crucially, they have to make the first move.

On the flip side, Facebook ads is a proactive way of reaching a highly targeted audience. You create an ad and put it into people’s timelines in an instant. It’s that easy. You just set a budget and off you go. They don’t even need to know who you are.
